PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

This workshop is designed to give participants an overview and an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the functions of the various Shipping documents and the import/export procedures. This workshop aims to provide both the practical and theoretical aspects of the latest and the most effective ways doing import/export. 

This course is designed to provide an understanding of the Shipping Documentation.

•For new entrants to the logistics industry, it will be a good opportunity to learn about the importance of shipping documentation and its consequences if it is not done properly.

•For practitioners in the logistics industry, it will enable them to clear doubts about some aspects in shipping documentation. 

•For the merchants (Buyers and Sellers of goods), it will help them to understand how shipping documents are processed and the carrier's requirements in exports and imports. 

 

 TARGET AUDIENCE

Anyone dealing with Shipping (B/L, etc.) Documentation e.g. Banks, Merchants, Shipping Line and Logistics service providers and for those considering a career switch to the logistics industry.

2. International Shipping Documents
 

> Importance and proper use of documents.

> Understanding B/L and AWB and its implications.

> Operation of Packing List & Invoice. 

> Certificate of Origin - uses and applications.
> Import / Export process.

 

3. Cargo Insurance Policy

> Reasons for cargo insurance. 

> Changes in the insurance policy.

> The Institute Cargo Clauses.

>  Exclusions.

> Claims Procedures.

> Documentation of claims. 

 

4. Letter of Credit
 

> Types of payment in international trade.

> Step-by-Step operation of L/C.

> Types of Letter of Credit.
